Dear Friends of Education,

For the past three years, top leaders have filled the RBC Center to celebrate educational excellence at the North Carolina Education Ball. Broadway and screen legends Terrence Mann, George Merritt, and Alan Campbell, as well as Raleigh's own Sharon Lawrence and Lauren Kennedy have dazzled audience members at the event. They were joined by top student talent from across North Carolina. It is a spectacular evening that has sold out the past two years.

The 2006 NC Education Ball will be held on June 3, 2006 at the Progress Energy Center for Performing Arts. My wife, Patsy, and I are honored to chair this prestigious event. This year's theme, Under the Silver Moon, will transport our guests back to the glitzy nightclub era of champagne, diamonds and great music from legends like Sammy Davis Jr. and Frank Sinatra. Guests will enjoy star-studded entertainment, magnificent live and silent auctions and the presentation of the 4th Annual H. Glenn Williams Power of One Awards.

Proceeds from the event benefit Communities In Schools of NC (CIS), the #1 dropout prevention program in the country. While CIS students are usually those at the highest risk of dropping out, once part of the CIS family 98% of the students stay in school!
